Hijinx Ensue
This is the column that's actually being currently published in the Daily Free Press, Boston University's independent student newspaper and the newspaper with the third highest daily circulation in Boston (after the Globe and the Herald). Links take you off-site to the Freep website. And remember, I don't name these columns. I just write 'em.
Hijinx Ensue 1: Words From the Wise
I pontificate about the BU guest policy and freshmen social habits, all through an elaborate forest metaphor.
Hijinx Ensue 2: A Cellular Organism After All
In the second of my increasingly trivial columns, I talk about cell phones, and my love-hate relationship with them.
Man on Film
My concept for this failed column was to be an entertainment-themed columnist. I would cover topics relevant to the entertainment industry in a column-esque format. (Note the use of an authorial voice different than my own.) I would also review movies, as a scam to get the DFP to pay for me to go see movies. So here, revealed publicly for the first time, is the not yet ready for prime time column, "Man On Film."
Note the age of this column, the very first I wrote, which dealt with the then-relevant topic of the 1999 Oscar race.
Man On Film 2: Steal This Column
Surely there's no better hot-button issue than Napster. Watch me tackle it and offend just about everyone.
My attempt at a humorous review of a highly, highly serious movie, with mixed results.
